It's finally hockey season!! Let's Go Buffalo!! Facebook Chat (Show/Hide)

» New Facebook Functionality
Posted September 25, 2009 by BP Staff.

BuffaloPuck.com is happy to introduce our new Facebook functionality! Thanks to the folks who host and maintain the Facebook Development Wiki , our development team has implemented a few features specifically for Facebook users. Because Facebook has taken over social networking world-wide, we feel that it is a great way to allow our fans to communicate and connect on a more personal level. But don't worry -- if you don't use Facebook, you're not missing out. You'll be able to post data anonymously as well.

First, you'll probably notice the Facebook Feed on the right hand side of the page. This feed is linked to our BuffaloPuck.com Profile on Facebook and will display all updates that we post on the Facebook. These updates could range from announcing breaking news, live game updates, contest and sweepstakes announcements, or just our staff's personal thoughts on the Buffalo Sabres. Fans are encouraged to comment and discuss anything we post via the Facebook Feed.

Next is the new Facebook Live Chat. You can find the chat on the BuffaloPuck homepage, but it will not be visible right away. To toggle the chat on, you must click the link titled "Facebook Chat (Show/Hide)" located just below the main login/users box. Once you click this link, the chat should appear. This chat allows Facebook users to post thoughts and opinions on the fly, like a real-time discussion. Users are encouraged to use this as much as possible -- it's a great way to keep in touch with other fans, and share your opinions with each other! Also, myself and Josh will likely use the chat often as well, so feel free to leave any feedback or suggestions. Ideally, this chat will be used during Sabres games, but is not limited to that.

We have a few other features planned for the future as well, but it may be a few weeks before these are released. We want to make sure everything is working as smooth as possible before moving forward! Keep checking back for more updates, and please report any errors you notice to me at jack[at]buffalopuck[dot]com.

oh, and Tyler Myers is a stud. Take a seat Tallinder.
