Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today the team has agreed to terms with restricted free agent defenseman Andrej Sekera on a multi-year deal and the club has reached an arbitration settlement on a one-year contract with forward Clarke MacArthur.

Sekera (6/8/1986, 6-0,191 lbs) appeared in 69 games last season with the Sabres, picking up 19 points (3+16) and one game-winning goal (3/6/09 vs. Phoenix). Last year, the defenseman missed 12 games due to an ankle injury.

In three NHL seasons, Sekera has appeared in 108 regular season games and has amassed 27 points (5+22) with the Sabres. The native of Bojnice, Slovakia was Buffalo’s Third Round

MacArthur, (4/6/1985, 5-11,191 lbs) set career-high totals in every statistical category during the 2008-09 campaign. In 71 games, the center collected 31 points (17+14) and averaged 13:50 on-ice time per game.

The Lloydminster, Alberta native has appeared in 127 career NHL games, picking up 53 points (28+25) and 80 penalty minutes. MacArthur was the Sabres’ Third Round selection (74th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
