Buffalo ended a pair of long losing streaks by beating New Jersey, 2-1, in a shootout Tuesday. It was the Sabres' only win in their last six games and ended a franchise record of 12 straight regulation-losses on the road.
"It's been a tough run," coach Lindy Ruff said. "Everybody knows that. Every player felt it. Everyone around the team has felt it.
